TAG PTSA Hosts Panel Discussion on Education Issues
In conjunction with the TAG PTSA General Meeting on April 22, the TAG PTSA is pleased to host a
Special Presentation: Town Hall Panel Discussion
The League of Women Voters of Dallas (LWVD) Education Fund will be presenting a Town Hall Panel Discussion to inform voters about:
- the current trustee structure and the status of DISD,
- Home Rule as written in the Texas Education Code, and
- the petition that is currently being circulated throughout the city by the Support Our Schools group.
Additional LWVD meetings covering these topics are being planned for Townview if you can’t make this presentation.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The presentations will be educational. After the panelists finish their presentations, written questions will be taken from the audience.
Neither the School for the Talented & Gifted nor the TAG PTSA has taken a position on these issues. This session will provide information to assist DISD voters and constituents to better evaluate the current environment and the proposed change.
The session may be video recorded. Spanish translation has been requested.
The April 22nd PTSA General Meeting will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. with officer elections, budget approvals, and the presentation of Honorary Lifetime Membership awards. The meeting will be held on the Townview theater.
