TAG benefits from a level of parent support rivaled by few other schools. Parent support for TAG is is provided chiefly through the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Among the many ways the PTSA supports TAG are:
Communication. We keep families apprised of important things happening at TAG through through our weekly newsletter and other announcements distributed to the TAGMAG email list. We also foster community within the TAG family through our annual Fall Picnic, our monthly Parent Coffees and our school Directory.
Educational Programs: We devote most of the time at our monthly PTSA meetings to programs of interest to TAG students and parents. These programs include: guest speakers with expertise in college admissions and paying for college; making the most of TAG; and outside programs and internships available to TAG students.
Student Activities. We offer two great programs to allow students to showcase their creative and artistic interests. We sponsor the PTA Reflections program in the fall and the TAG Talent Show in the spring.
Volunteers, Hospitality, Spirit Wear, and Teacher and Staff Appreciation. We organize volunteers and provide refreshments for a number of school activities, including Flight School, TAG TREK, TAG Forum, TAG-IT and class field trips. We sell Spirit Wear to let the TAG family show its pride in TAG. We host regular appreciation events to let teachers and staff know how much we appreciate everything they do for TAG students.
Fundraising. We conduct an annual fundraising campaign to help TAG maintain a world-class program. These funds pay for PTSA activities, student extra-curricular activities and clubs, and classroom instructional needs (typically art and science supplies, classroom equipment, textbooks and AP prep books).
All TAG parents, teachers, students and community supporters are invited to become members of the TAG PTSA.
